A Zimbabwean woman drowned her child to please her boyfriend.
A woman whose boyfriend said he could not marry her because she has a kid, decided to kill the child to please him.
A 23-year-old woman in Zimbabwe, Talent Bango, has been sentenced
to 21 years in prison by a Bulawyo High Court, for drowning her baby daughter in a well because her boyfriend refused to
marry her because she has a child.
She was
found guilty and convicted of murder.
The court
heard that Bango of Gokwe, threw the little Tanaka Simbaza into a well, where
she drowned.
The
child's body was found floating in the well four days later.
According
to the police investigation, Bango killed her daughter in order to please her
boyfriend, who had promised to marry her if she got rid of her children.
Bango
took her daughter to the well, threw her into it and went home as if nothing
had happened. When asked by the residents of the village where her child was,
Bango lied, saying that she is staying with relatives.
